Issues:

Chronic kidney disease includes conditions that damage and decrease the kidneys’ ability to remove toxins and maintain normal fluid balance.

Severe kidney disease, wastes can build to dangerously high levels in the blood.

Kidney disease can progress to kidney failure, requiring dialysis or a kidney

Contributing Factors:

High blood pressure

Complications of chronic kidney disease include:

High blood pressure,

Anemia (low blood count),

Weak bones,

Malnutrition,

Nerve damage,

Cardiovascular disease,

Kidney stones,

Kidney failure,

Kidney health concerns:

Drinking two or more cola drinks per day doubled the risk of chronic kidney disease. There is no difference between artificially sweetened and regular colas,

Drinking non-cola sodas and caffeinated beverages do not affect the risk.

Phosphorus may have an effect on the risk of kidney disease,

Reduce protein intake.   Protein is found in two types of foods, poultry, meat, seafood, eggs, milk, cheese and other dairy products.   in smaller amounts in foods from plant sources such as breads, cereals, other starches and grains, and vegetables and fruits.

Phosphorus:

Phosphorus is a mineral found in your bones, along with calcium and is needed for building healthy strong bones,

Normal functioning kidneys can remove extra phosphorus in your blood,

High phosphorus levels can cause body changes that pull calcium out of your bones, making them weak.   High phosphorus and calcium levels also lead to dangerous calcium deposits in blood vessels, lungs, eyes, and heart.

Early phosphorus control may delay renal bone disease. To help control progression of renal disease,

Phosphorus is found in many foods but is especially high in dairy products such as milk, cheese, pudding, yogurt and ice cream, dried beans and peas such as kidney beans, split peas and lentils, Avocados, nuts and peanut butter, beverages such as cocoa, beer, Prune juice and cola soft drinks

Potassium Bicarbonate:

Potassium is a mineral that is found naturally in foods and is necessary for many normal functions of your body, especially the beating of your heart. Potassium bicarbonate is used to prevent or to treat a potassium deficiency,

Magnesium:

Too little Magnesium can affect your heartbeat and cause changes in your mental state; too much can leave you feeling weak.
